          4-H Program

Sorenson’s Ranch School offers students the opportunity to participate in our 4-H program. 4-H is a community of young people across America who is learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills. Sorenson’s offer three different areas of interest to compete in.

          Horses:
Students can compete in 4-H horse events, which include barrel racing, pole bending, halter, western pleasure, and reining. We participate in about one show a month through the summer and students have the opportunity to compete against other teens from surrounding communities for the chance to win awards and most of all the opportunity to learn responsibility, team work, and to build confidence and self esteem by seeing their hard work pay off.

          Pigs & Sheep:
Students may also have the opportunity to raise and care for a lamb or a pig. These animals will be chosen in the spring and students are responsible for feeding and grooming the animal they have chosen. As the county fair draws near in August students carefully groom their animals and take them to the livestock show for the opportunity to show off the result of months of hard work against other teens from around the state. At the end of the show each student will sell their animal and will retain the profits that they have made.

4-H is a nation wide organization that helps our teens develop leadership skills, work ethic, and moral character and helps them to be a part of a community. Participating youth, “learn by doing” through opportunities in which they gain a sense of belonging within a positive group, cultivate independence with guidance from caring adults and peers, and master life challenges. Sorenson’s Ranch School has promoted 4-H for many years and have seen the positive impact it has on youth.

Sorensons Ranch School is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant students.
