BEN GASSER
TEACHER

Ben Gasser Ben was born in Payson, Utah, during the summer of í77 and spent his early childhood in southern Utah County cavorting amid apple orchards in the shadows of the southern tip of the Wasatch Mountains. At roughly the age of nine, the Gasser family moved to the Delta Area, and he spent the rest of his formative years surrounded by alfalfa fields and Utahís West Desert, and immersed in literature, art, and wrestling.

After graduating from Delta High School, Ben intermittently attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, graduating with an A.S. Degree, Utah State University in Logan, Utah, graduating in 2003 with a Baccalaureate Degree in English with an Art Minor. Benís emphasis in Literary Studies built upon his love of literature, introduced him to a more cognitive approach to reading, and fostered an affinity for writing. An Art minor gave him the opportunity to develop one of his hobbies/talents of artistic expression.

During this time, he met and married the best thing that ever happened to him, Jennifer Bowen of Ephraim, Utah. They married in June of 1999, and have since had three children, Parker, Adyson, and Xander respectively.

After Graduating form USU and following multiple career paths, Ben got a job at SRS and moved his family to Koosharem. He now spends his time teaching language arts classes, managing the SRS Library, overseeing the SRS 12-Step Program, working on a Masters Degree through USU, coaching wrestling, and working with the Grass Valley Wrestling Club, including a team composed of SRS students, and spending as much time as he can enjoying his family.
